This Privacy Policy explains how Quotify collects, uses, and shares information when you visit the site, view the leaderboard, or pay for a ranking. It sits alongside our Terms of Service.

What We Collect

We keep things minimal. We collect only what we need to run the board, take payment, stop abuse, and understand traffic.

• Quote submission data. The author name, quote text, optional URL, and bid amount you submit. These are stored in our database and displayed publicly on the board.
• Payment data. Card details and billing identity are collected directly by Dodo Payments, our payment processor and merchant of record — never by us. Dodo Payments sends us confirmation that you paid, the amount, and a payment identifier.
• Technical data. Standard request data such as IP address, user agent, and referrer may be processed by our hosting provider to operate and secure the Service.
• Theme preference. Your light/dark mode choice is stored locally in your browser via localStorage. We never see it.

Cookies

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may store a theme preference locally. Dodo Payments or our hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies for checkout and security.

Why We Use This Data

• To provide the Service. To take payment, create your quote on the board, show rank, and operate the leaderboard.
• To keep the board fair. Rate limiting, bot filtering, and abuse prevention.
• Legal obligations. To keep tax, accounting, and complaint records where the law requires it.

Public Content

Author names, quote text, bid amounts, and linked URLs on the board are public. Anyone can see them, including search engines. Do not submit a quote if you do not want that information shown publicly.

Who We Share Data With

• Dodo Payments — our payment processor and merchant of record; handles checkout, billing, and tax, and sends us payment confirmation.
• Hosting and database infrastructure — so the site can run.
• Legal authorities — if we must share data to comply with law or enforce the Terms.

We do not sell your personal data. Where processors are outside your jurisdiction, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How Long We Keep It

• Public quotes stay on the board as long as the ranking is active and may remain in backups after removal for a limited time.
• Payment identifiers and amounts are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax, fraud, and dispute handling.
• Technical logs are retained only as long as useful for security and debugging.

Your Rights

If the GDPR or similar privacy law applies to you, you may ask us to access, correct, delete, or export personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing was based on consent. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise your rights, contact us at the email below. Public quote content that you submitted voluntarily is displayed on the board; you can ask us to remove your quote.

Children

The Service is for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used the Service, contact us and we will delete the data we can identify.

Changes

We may update this policy when the Service or the law changes. The date at the top of this page is the current version. If a change is material, we will post the updated policy here.
